Edward Evans began his acting career in 1948 and has had a full and extensive list of credits in all facets of the entertainment industry. His stage work includes a national tour of Make and Break, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum at The Liverpool Playhouse, Romeo and Juliet at the Derby Playhouse, a national tour of Caught Napping and productions of Kiss Me Kate, The Rivals and Rookery Nook.

Edward is well remembered for his three year role in The Groves and for his role as Mr Larkin in The Larkins. Other television work includes George and Mildred, Poldark, Heart of the Country, Joe's Ark, Suez, The Greeks, Dr Who, Z Cars, Crown Court and Dads Army. In 1965 he joined Coronation Street as shop keeper Lionel Petty and remained with the series for a year.

Edward has worked in many films including Tales from the Crypt, Winter Rates, One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing, The Small Voice, London Belongs To Me, Mr Denning Drives North, Grand National Night, The Trials of Oscar Wilde, Two A Penny, Till Death Us Do Part, One More Time, Vendetta for the Saint, Sunday Bloody Sunday, 10 Rillington Place, Out of Season and Lifeforce.
