Played: Audrey Flemming (1968 - 1970)

Gillian was educated in Birkenhead and after leaving school she took a job in a print work shop. In 1968 she enrolled at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on a three year course but after just two years she auditioned for the role of Audrey Bright in Coronation Street and was given the role.

Gillian worked in Coronation Street for almost three years with Nigel Humphries playing her screen husband Dickie and Neville Buswell as her lover Ray Langton. The role marked Gillian's professional debut, and in fact her only acting job.

Gillian left the series in 1970 when she married a Spaniard and moved to Spain. She decided to quit acting in 1976 but has fond memories of her time in Coronation Street.
