David Neilson David NeilsonPlayed: Roy Cropper (19 July 1995 - )
David currently lives with his family in Bristol, and commutes when filming. He has previously worked as a gas fitter, plumber, ice-cream salesman and barman. Since taking up drama, he has been a theatre director, tutor and writer.
Roy's famous bag and key has a special meaning to David. They belonged to his mum, who died shortly before taking the role of Roy. Apart from small roles in EastEnders and Heartbeat, he also appeared in Mike Leigh's Secrets and Lies, which won the 1996 Palme d'Or at Cannes.
David recently gained a degree in Humanities from the Open University after years of study.
