A customer in Jim's Cafe who was always a little 'overfriendly', much to Emily's annoyance.

In April 1980 he re-appeared at Emily and Deirdre's "Coronation Street Secretarial Bureau", bringing some work for them and announcing that he was now known has Jeff Bateman, rather than just plain 'Fangio'. He had gone respectable, going self-employed and buying his own light haulage van.
