Gladys Braithwaite Gladys BraithwaiteA schoolpal of Audrey Potter's (now Roberts) - daughter of the Bessie Street School caretaker, Sid Moorcroft. Alma Halliwell arranged for her to come to Audrey's 58th birthday party, but it was obvious they had changed in the intervening 40 years. Audrey sneered at Gladys' council house and lorry-driving husband; Gladys reminded Audrey that her family were all still around her and they were happy. To cap it all, she accidentally revealed it was Audrey's 60th - not her 58th !
