Janet Barlow's lover, whom she went to live with after leaving Ken. When Denton threw her out, she turned to Ken for help, but he declined and she took an overdose.

Denton turned up at No1 shortly after Janet's death, demanding £7,000 from Janet's Building Society account. He claimed that he had put the money there as a tax fiddle. After some haggling, Ken agreed to hand back Denton his money (actually about £5,000)
