A Clerk of Works at the Council. After Eddie
Yeats repaired the roof of his house in Garibaldi Street,
he came round to Len Fairclough's
yard, complaining that the roof was in perfect order a few days
before and demanding his £40 back. It isn't clear if Eddie
'encouraged' a few slates to fall off or if Mr Fox was trying
to pull a fast one on Len, but for reaf of antagonising future
Council contracts, Len gave Mr Fox his £40 back - but also
gave Eddie the benefit of the doubt and kept him on.
