Bertha's husband Nat had a reputation that went before him. After winning £100 with Uncle Albert, Bertha started paying lots of attention to him, and Albert had heard that Nat was the jealous sort.

They met up in The Rovers - but it transpired that Nat hated bingo, and was only too happy for 'lucky' Albert to continue taking Bertha to bingo - in fact he even paid Uncle Albert's expenses !
