The Detective Sergeant who took Steve
McDonald in for questioning after a lorryload of whisky was
stolen from Rusholme. Steve wasn't involved, but he was held for
48 hours at the secretive bidding of Alan
McKenna - just to make life awkward for him.
He later had Steve put away overnight on a fictitious drugs
charge as a warning to leave Weatherfield. As Alan's best man,
he felt it was his duty !
