Londoner Jenny came up to Weatherfield to look for her sister Monica who had been staying with the hippies at No11. She fell for Dennis Tanner and they started working together at Weatherfield Social Club, but he later left to work for Crowning Glory hairdressing products. In May 1968 Dennis borrowed £100 from a moneylender at 48% interest to pay for their Register Office wedding, but things didn't go according to plan. Dennis was ordered to Bristol by Crowning Glory on his wedding night, leaving Jenny alone in their marital bed. Soon after she joined Dennis for a new life in Bristol.
