January 2000: Mark Redman agrees to rent the flat
July 2000: Mark cannot bear to continue his affair with Linda Sykes any longer and he resumes his round the world travelling, handing the key back to Rita and the flat lies empty.
February 2001: Rita Sullivan's close friend, Anthony Stephens moves in and rents the flat from Alec. Anthony stays on until July, when he travels to New Zealand for a family wedding, and decides to stay on. Rita declines to travel with him, and they part with bad feeling.
September 2001: After lying empty for a couple of months, recently married Steve & Karen McDonald decide the flat above Streetcars is too small for both them and Vik, and they persuade Rita Sullivan to have a word with Alec Gilroy and they move in - only for Karen and Rita to engage in a of music and words through the thin walls.
December 2004: Karen and Steve split up and Karen leaves the street, leaving Steve on his own in the flat.
