Opened in May 2000, Vik Desai and Steve McDonald opened the office for their new taxi business in a unit on Victoria Street, backing onto the hair salon at No2 Coronation Street. After converting it into two bedrooms, Steve and Vik also moved into the flat over the unit.
June 2001: After marrying Karen Phillips, Steve moves his wife into the flat, and friction soon results. By the September, Steve and Karen move into the flat at No12 Coronation Street.
December 2001: Partly to discourage girlfriend Bobbi Lewis getting too close, Vik gets Sam Kingston to move into the flat at £40 a week.
When Vik accumulated gambling debts, Dev paid his debts and sent him to India and took over the half share in Streetcars, becoming Steve's Partner. Other inhabitants of the flat included Joe Carter, and Nick Tilsley with Maria Sutherland.
2004:Maria Sutherland and Nick Tilsley live in the flat
2005: Liz Macdonald and Maria Sutherland live in the flat, Dev sells his share in the business to cabbie Lloyd Mullaney.
2005: Liz moves back in with son Steve MacDonald.
2006: Lloyd Mullaney buys Dev's share of Streetcars and moves into the flat. Kelly Crabtree lives with Lloyd for a short time, also Becky Granger, an old aquaintance of Kelly's for a very short time. Lloyd currently lives there alone.
