Kevin is determined not to go to his father's wedding and Bill Webster persuades Percy that it's time he took over.

Thursday (2481, Wednesday 9 January 1985)
Bill Webster marries Elaine Prior and leaves for his new life, Hilda is very taken with her new lodger and things start to hot up between Bet and Frank.

Designer Christine Millward finally catches up with Mike Baldwin in The Rovers and persuades him to look at her designs at the Factory. Betty, fed up with the staff shortage at The Rovers decides to do something about it herself but Frank Harvey shoots down her suggestions.

The factory girls start production on Christine's Flying Suit designs and Mike persuades Christine to go to London with him to sell the product. Hilda insists that her lodger, Henry Wakefield should stay, despite lying about his job and persuades Mike to consider giving him work.

Thursday (2486, Monday 28 January 1985)
Kevin takes up Emily's offer and moves in with Curly. Mike takes Christine Millward down to London to see if they can market her clothes designs and Phillis tries to persuade Percy to take her to the Valentine Day Dance but with little success.

Friday (2487, Wednesday 30 January 1985)
Mike and Christine seem to be having a fine time in London and the designs are going well. Emily is not too sure about having the two boys in her home and Phillis is still hoping that Percy will take her to the dance.

The Community Centre dance is livened up by a drunken Henry Wakefield who has been sacked to prevent a strike. Alf and Rita get cosy together and so do Shirley and Curly, and Christine and Mike renew their relationship.

Hilda is furious that Henry has been hounded out of The Street and Sally calls the Gazette about the job of trainee reporter.

Mavis' wedding saga hits the national press and Derek makes matters worse by trying to explain the situation. Ken hits the first snag on his DIY venture and Deidre comes to the rescue.

Audrey stands in for Deirdre at the corner shop. The factory girls decide they want time off for Christmas shopping, much to Mike Baldwin's disapproval. George turns down Ivy's invitation for supper and Bet gets dressed up for her big night out.

Bet still hasn't returned from her night out. George turns down another invitation from Ivy, and Bet eventually returns to the Rovers. George and Pauline Walsh are spotted out for the evening together.

Audrey is having trouble getting Alf's car repaired and has to admit that she damaged it. After losing his temper, he makes up with their first kiss and they're soon off celebrating with champagne. Jack loses a bet with Vera's money whilst using Stan's 'well-tested' system.

It's Christmas Day on the street. Vera's turkey is a bit of a let down, and Jack and Ivy reminisce about the good old days when chicken and turkey were something special. Meanwhile, Frank kisses Gloria under the mistletoe but she soon puts a stop to his advances and Mike and Susan arrange to meet for a drink, much to Ken and Deirdre's dismay.

Friday (2582, Monday 30 December 1985)
Mike invites Susan to a party in London to celebrate the New Year and she accepts. Frank turns nasty with Gloria after she rejects his advances and Audrey and Alf return from their honeymoon in Paris.
