Friday 2 November

Written by Joe Turner Directed by Philip Wood

Molly has spent the night at Kevin's flat, purely on a platonic basis. He tells her that she can stay as long as she likes.

Les begs Dennis to speak to Janice on his behalf, since he wants to go back home. After all, he can't stay at Eileen and Dennis' for ever - the house is too small. Dennis goes off to work, in a grump.

Candice ribs Sarah about her first date with Luke; can she come too? Jack, on school crossing patrol, is approached by Vera to see if he'll agree to helping their errant son, Terry, in his hour of need. Jack does NOT want to know.

In the garage, Les arrives to plead with Dennis to speak to Janice. After all, says Les, all he did was kiss Janice's sister years ago, nothing else, and Janice will listen to Dennis, for she respects him.

At Mike's flat, he's talking to Fred about the graffiti on the mirror. He's convinced that it was scrawled by Jimmy, Linda's brother. Mike wonders if Eve knows about Fred's visit - er, no.

In the cafe, Les arrives to plead with Toyah to speak to her Mum on his behalf - he's always been faithful to her, he says, and begs Toyah to help.

The private detective visits Mike in his office at the factory to let him know what he's managed to find out so far in his search for Linda. Mike isn't impressed, since all the detective has are bank statements and phone bills - all showing that Linda has not been spending anything since she disappeared. Linda has GOT to be found, Mike says.

In the Rovers, Gail tells Molly that she can stay with them for a while. Molly is scared to go home, but she'll have to face it sooner or later. Shelley has suggested a Quiz Night and Duggie asks Sunita what she thinks. Great idea! Duggie suggests that he and Sunita could start making-up the questions over dinner tonight, but Sunita has already promised to go clubbing with Bobbi and Vik. Duggie thinks clubbing is a good idea, and he'll come along too - but Sunita doesn't look so sure about the prospect! Fred tells Eve that Mike has got a private detective to search for Linda. However, Eve thinks that this is the sign of a guilty man, trying to cover his tracks.

Dennis arrives at Janice's house. He's had enough of all this subterfuge, especially with his best mate, Les. Janice just wants Dennis, and they share a passionate kiss. The door goes - Toyah has come to plead for Les, as Dennis claims that is the reason for his visit too. Janice claims that she's been made a fool of once too often; never again.

The police arrive at Mike's office to inform him that they have a witness who claims to have seen him near where his car was pulled out of the river. There'll be an Identity Parade tomorrow, in which Mike will have to appear.

INTERVAL

In the Rovers, Shelley and Peter share a tender kiss. The Great Orlando is being paid for his services, just as Les arrives. Les accuses him of breaking up his marriage and tells him to hypnotise Janice to take him back. He refuses.

Kevin asks Molly what she's going to do. She's moving back into her flat.

Candice accuses Sarah of being 'in love'. Candice thinks Sarah will get a 'reputation' - "You mean another one?", says Sarah...

In the Rovers, Mike tells Fred about the ID parade but that it'll be OK - he has nothing to hide. Eve arrives, interrupting their conversation. Audrey sits down with Mike and tells him that she believes in his innocence. Mike smiles. Vera tells Gail that she's going to get the best lawyer for Terry; after all, he must have some cash stashed away?

Dennis and Janice share a cuddle, but Dennis still feels guilty about their relationship and he feels out of his depth.

In the Rovers, Gail assures Kevin that Molly is terrified of going back to her flat and he goes off to see Molly. Audrey asks Mike if the mirror message could have been made by Linda, but Mike says that that is not a possibility. Les is drowning his sorrows at the bar and Duggie advises him to go home and sort it out - beg, if necessary. Peter and Sunita arrive. Duggie tells her she looks stunning (and she is!). Peter seems a bit surprised that Duggie is going clubbing...

Kevin arrives at Molly's flat and tells her to come back to his flat. Molly thinks that this would be a temporary arrangement, but Kevin wants her to move in with him, permanently. Molly says that he's a star, and they hug.

In Janice's house, Dennis says that he wants to be with Janice, as she wants to be with him, but he can see no 'happy ending'. Janice wants a hug, which is interrupted by Les who has suddenly appeared - the back door must have been left unlocked. Les pleads with Janice to take him back. Janice looks to Dennis for some back-up, but he refuses to commit himself. Janice, almost in tears, agrees to take Les back. Dennis leaves...

Sunday 4 November

I spent Sunday evening being entertained by a trumpet player. If I could play the trumpet as well as that 80 year old at my current age I would be a proud man. Hats off to Humphrey Lyttleton please. Still performing and entertaining for an evening. Sadly I was almost the youngest person in the audience.

Events in Weatherfield continue to entertain however. The writer was Jayne Hollinson, direction by Philip Wood.

Janice is alone in bed when Les brings her breakfast - a soft and runny egg. He is trying to make up - but things are not back to normal as far as she was concerned. She does not care that he kissed her sister - but she stopped caring a long time ago and she has only just realised. They have been together seven years but Janice thinks they merely have a bad habit that cannot be shrugged off.

Next door Eileen is doing a week's housework in four hours. Dennis gives her a hug which she reciprocates. She reckons they have both been busy - but he wants her to take off her rubber gloves. They are lucky to have each other.

Rursie and Surphie wake Kevin - Surphie wants her birthday present. Kev pretends he has forgotten - but then remembers it is in the kitchen. They wake Molly who is on the sofa. The present is found and opened.

Janice is looking for Dennis - but she cannot find him at the garage. Mike meets Audrey and he is taking her to the police station for the identity parade - he is worried but welcomes the company. Janice sees Dennis going to the Corner Shop and chases after him. Inside the corner shop Shelley is buying some balsam - for Duggie's bad back - Sunita admits that he was giving it large on the dance floor. Dennis refuses to talk to Janice when she catches up with him.

Back at Kev's flat Surphie does not think that Sally will approve of nail varnish - but it is her birthday. Kev tells the gurls that Molly has moved in - and they immediately volunteer to be bridesmaids. Molly explains she cannot stay at her flat - and has simply moved in as a friend.

At the police station, Mike's solicitor (who I think has the same name as the last one but a different face unfortunately) is saying that Mike does not have to participate in the identity parade - it is his right to refuse to take part. Audrey leaps to his defence. Mike is not sure - but decides to take part. Mike just wants to get it over with. Audrey is left to wait.

At the flat Sally turns up to provide birthday cheer and notices the nail varnish immediately - and they are allowed to keep it on. Sally has a present for the birthday girl and she and Martin are going to take them out - Kev gets upset - he thought he was going to take them out and there is almost an argument before a compromise is put in place by Molly. Two birthday treats. And of course the gurls are quick to tell Sally that Molly lives here now!! Kev and Molly look at each.

The identity parade is lined up. They are behind one way glass and a female observer looks at them. She goes up and down the line - Mike is the shortest person and number 2 in the parade. We go to the commercial break.

When we come back after a few messages from our sponsors the woman thinks it might be number 2. All are asked to turn to the left and to the right. She cannot make a positive identification.

Back on the Street Eileen is off to work, her departure being observed by Janice. Duggie strolls along the Street and shows no signs of his bad back. Sunita wants to go clubbing again tonight - but being Saturday it is his busiest night. Instead she will help him with the questions for the quiz night.

Molly and Kev leave the flat together in front of Blanche. As Molly observes that will save them telling the world!!

Eileen arrives at work and Les bends her ears - Janice is not happy. Les has said he is sorry - but he asks for advice. Eileen tells him to behave more like Dennis - be romantic, kind caring - and no roving eye.

Across the Street Dennis lets Janice into Eileen's house. Dennis and Janice do not want to finish - but they do not want to tell their partners. Dennis does not want Janice and Les to split up over him. Janice is still using the kiss with her sister as her excuse. Dennis reckons that Janice should be content - but she is not happy. When she was young she wanted to meet someone who made her special - but she had long thought it was never going to happen, so she settled for something less - until she met Dennis - and now she cannot go back knowing what she knows.

Molly is at Gail's - will they get on as friends and flatsharers? Molly reckons it will do them both good - as friends. Luke arrives to see Sarah - meeting Gail, Molly and Bethany for the first time. Luke tells a story.

At the Rovers Mike and Audrey are having a drink - observed by Blanche who starts the story rolling about Kev and Molly. Duggie and Sunita are quiz setting. Audrey and Mike discuss events. Audrey listens to Mike and she decides to take him home and feed him.

Janice asks Dennis not to give her up. But Dennis cannot do this to Eileen - she has done nothing and does not deserve this. Janice and Dennis row - but he admits he loves Janice and Eileen - he loves them both.

The gurls are back from the fair and Molly takes the opportunity to put the record straight with Sally as well as pulling Martin's leg - she might be sharing the flat but not his bed. She apologises for the nail varnish but Sally smiles and knows that it was the girls' idea.

At the end of the Street Luke and Sarah exchange a kiss - young love. This brings memories back for Martin and Sal who go indoors to practice further.

Audrey and Mike are drinking coffee. Mike wishes Alma was still there - he admits that he could have doe better - he could have a family - and he has few friends. He has never felt so lonely in his life and Audrey admits she feels the same.

Janice and Dennis mop up the tears - she wanted to hear his declaration - but what do they do now? Janice offers to make it easier - she will stay with Les. Dennis asks how she feels about him - and she admits she loves him and she always will. Dennis runs after her and refuses to let her go - they have to sort something out. They hold each other - and we go into the closing credits.

At the firework party, the Guy burns but Les' fireworks fizzle out like a damp squib. They are damp. This leads to a row between Janice and Les. Matt and Charlie save the day with loads of fireworks. Les walks off to the pub.

Sarah tells her boyfriend she has to go and help Candice with her homework because she has an evening job.

Janice goes off to the factory. She is upset and crying. Dennis follows her there. She says she is very upset watching him and Eileen together because she wants him.

Vera invites Rita and Norris to Jack's birthday party.

Les tells Duggie that he was trying to help out and he gets no thanks for it.

Dennis and Janice are "getting it together" in the factory. Someone puts a firework through the letter box.

Gail starts to worry where David and his friend Simon are. Then they find the factory alight. Dennis and Janice are still inside. Ashley gets Mike out of the pub. Dennis and Janice are trying to get out against the flames and smoke.

Mike wants to go in, but is held back. Les spots someone moving inside the factory. Janice and Dennis come out. She says she was doing some paperwork, and Dennis seeing the flames came in to rescue her. Mike accuses her of smoking in there. Dennis then produces a burnt out firework.

Matt and Gail suggest the boys had something to do with it, but Simon still has the firework that Matt gave him earlier on.

We see Jimmy Sykes smiling in the street.

Oh - we have an extra episode again on Thursday!

Friday 9 November

Written by Susan Wilkes Directed by Tony Prescott

Morning on Coronation Street. Eileen and Dennis come out of their house for work and Dennis just happens to meet Janice, who tells him that she wants to be with him. They'll see each other later...

Fred drives Eve to work, but she is still worried about Linda. Poor Fred can't cheer her up, no matter how hard he tries.

Sarah and Candice have a blazing row; because of the evening job she has, Candice has no time to do her homework and she's been copying Sarah's. This can't go on.

In the cafe, Gail and Molly discuss the Quiz Night at the Rovers - maybe they could get Matt to join their team? The winning team receives ?50. Vera tells Jack not to overdo things at the Rovers, and reminds him that she's going to see Terry again tomorrow. Jack remains impassive.

In the Corner Shop, Duggie meets Sunita and he's obviously very excited by her. However, she is wanting to break off the relationship, just waiting for the right moment to tell him...

In the Kabin, Norris and Rita are going over quiz questions together. Mike, in for his usual cigars, meets Jimmy, and tells him that the floral ruse didn't work. Les, very animated, lets Dennis know that Janice will be "chuffed" with what he's arranged. Dennis does not look so pleased!

In the cafe again, Sarah admits to Charlie that, once again, she's copied Candice's homework, so it's detention for her once again on Monday. Curly asks Vera about Terry. Vera tells him that she's getting a good solicitor for him, but Jack still insists that Terry doesn't exist as far as he's concerned.

Janice and Dennis share a few moments of passion at her house during their lunch hour...

...while Les, in the Rovers, wonders where she is. He tells Eileen that he's been in to town and he's booked the holiday for the four of them. Jack arrives for work, dressed to kill. Duggie tells him where to find an overall. Jimmy is taken to task by Eve, his Mum, for his treatment of Mike - the police will sort it out. Fred feels that he can't do anything right.

Outside the Rovers, Mike lets Jimmy know that, since the floral ruse hasn't worked, their 'deal' is off. Duggie looks on, but Mike reassures him that everything is fine.

INTERVAL

Dennis skulks out of Janice's house to head back for work. Les appears and tells Janice about the holiday he's booked. Janice looks less than delighted. Les also enthuses about the Quiz Night - ?50 up for grabs.

In the cafe, Luke tells Candice that she's just conning Sarah. Candice storms out.

Back at the Rovers, Eve apologises to Duggie for her outburst. In the future, she'll concentrate on her work. Shelley says that Duggie has got some good questions for the Quiz Night, and Duggie admits that he's got a couple of questions specially for Sunita. Shelley tells him to 'go for it'...

Luke and Sarah call at Charlie's house, and Luke tells her the truth about its being Candice who's been copying Sarah's homework, not the other way round.

In the Rovers, the Quiz gets underway, but not without a little dispute about numbers in various teams...

In Mike's flat, Fred admits that Eve is not the woman he married. Mike knows exactly what he means - they've both found that out the hard way!

The Quiz Night, hosted by Duggie, continues. He has some problem with the radio microphone cutting out now and again, but eventually, the winners emerge as Rita, Norris and Curly. Sunita wants a private word with Duggie and they go into the back room... ... but it's not the 'private meeting' he anticipated. Sunita tells Duggie that she's realised that he's too old for her. (Unknown to Duggie and Sunita, the radio mic is still on, and the whole pub listens to their conversation!!) Shelley rushes to warn Duggie, but he hustles her out without listening to a word she says. Sunita tells Duggie that they're finished and she goes off into the bar, followed by the hapless Duggie, who soon realises that his 'private' conversation has been overheard by everyone present. As Les says, "Loud and clear"...

Sunday 11 November

I am still hoping that someone will feel like taking over Sunday night updates. We also need a few more volunteers please - these extra episodes are difficult to cover. Perhaps the new Producer will look again at the demands they are making on us volunteers!

Anyway events in Weatherfield are courtesy of ITV Television Limited and sponsorship from Cadburys's Miniature Heroes. Written by Mariam Vossough, directed by Tony Prescott, executive producer is still Jane MacNaught at the moment.

We open at the Rovers where Betty is surprised to see Duggie. Betty tells him that Sunita is far too young for him. Geena re-assures him that they wanted different things. Duggie admits he really liked Sunita to Geena.

Gail suggest Sarah catches up on some homework - Gail knows that she did not copy Candice's work - Charlie has told her the truth. Sarah says it is just a detention. Gail wants the truth, as they agreed after the last upset, but Sarah refuses to tell her and goes out to the shop.

Ashley sees a pair of male trousers enter into Emily's house - and thinks it is Norris who just then appears from the Kabin - so who went into the house?

There is a knock on the back door of the room at the Rovers - Geena ushers Sunita in to see Duggie. Without a microphone they have a chance to talk - she did not want to upset him. They both say sorry - she wants to explain - she is not ready for something serious after all the upset she has encountered. He admits she probably did him a favour - he cannot do the nightclubs. They agree that they have had some laughs and Duggie observes that who-ever ends up with Sunita will be a very lucky bloke.

Sarah returns to find bags of shopping which Gail has found in her room. She asks for an explanation but Sarah is reluctant, although they are Candice's - Sarah denies being a thief. Gail wants to know how Candice afforded such purchases. Gail says that Candice and her mother should come and collect the shopping. Sarah refuses to explain.

In the Kabin Norris is bemoaning the lack of a plaque for their success - indeed the Flying Horse has a competition next week - with a £100 prize. Les and Janice overhear and Les complains about Janice and Dennis's contribution.

Curly and Vera discuss Terry's case - and that Vera should tell Jack who is paying for the solicitor.

Ashley tells Norris and Vera that there is an intruder. Rita phones the police whilst Norris and Ashley charge down the Street. Ashley wants to go round the back so after some deep breathing Norris unlocks the door and they charge in to find a man lying on the floor apparently unplugging the television. Norris declares himself a post office employee who knows how to defend himself whilst threatening the intruder with a long handled broom. Spider stands up and turns around. Huge smile on Ashley's face.

After the break Spider explains his return. He was charging his mobile. Spider wants to see Emily - but she will not be back until Wednesday - he will stay in Emily's room until his return. Spider is not telling if it is a permanent return.

Les knocks on Dennis's door and he tells Janice and Dennis have to do swatting for the next quiz. He gives the two of them a book and tells them to concentrate. Les departs and Janice turns to Dennis with a warm smile spreading across her face.

Candice and her mother arrive at Gail's. Initially Candice denies that the clothes are her but Sarah tells all about the factory job. Candice's mother hears the whole truth eventually. Candice asserts that she can look after herself. Gail and Candice's mother exchange comments. Sarah gets upset and Gail apologises.

Across the road Dennis is asking Janice questions - whilst she is trying to kiss him all over. Dennis relents and starts kissing her back when a key goes in the front door and Toyah arrives and they spring apart. Toyah and Sam join in the practice session. Later Toyah and Sam depart and this time Janice remembers to bolt the front door. Janice feels terrible - she is not proud of lying to her daughter and Dennis is not proud of lying to Eileen. Janice bolts the door and they start kissing again.

Norris returns to the Kabin with Spider and Rita seems very pleased to see him. Spider does not know where he is going to sleep once Emily returns. Norris is worried over this - he could lose his cosy billet.

In the Rovers Vera and Curly are discussing the case - Curly still thinks that she should tell Jack. Mike is having a drink with Rovers but departs when Fred and Ash arrive - Mike is convinced that Eve will be along shortly. Fred bemoans his failure of his marriage to Ashley - and Fred does not think that the marriage can be patched up.

Outside the chippies Candice tells Sarah off. Candice storms off. We see Les shouting across the Street to Toyah and without notice he appears over Toyah's shoulder. R'Toyota does not know what is going on as she turns round to find her former lover stood behind her. She is amazed as Spider invites her for a chat and by the time they reach Emily's she is rather more composed. He is very pleased to see her and they have a big hug. He is back because he wanted to come home. He has been to Delhi and trekking around the Himalayas. He apologises for not keeping in touch. She admits she is seeing Sam, living at home and going to Uni. But Sam is not serious - and she has not had as much fun as him.

Along the Street Dennis and Janice are both minus their trousers - they would appear to have been enjoying each other. They are resting when suddenly Les is attempting to open the door. Dennis grabs his clothes and rushes into the kitchen whilst Janice puts her jeans on. Les asks why it was locked but Janice denies it and blames the lock. Les has chips and wants to eat them - he goes into the kitchen and finds the back door wide open. Les tells Janice to get the council round to make sure the front door opens and that the back door closes.

Monday 12 November

Well once again we join the events of Wetherfield and the continuing mystery of where is she? I mean it has been some time since we last saw Ena Sharples!!!!

Toyah is very quiet of breakfast. Janice believes that she is worried how she is going to tell Spider what has happened to her.

Todd and Candice are in the Kabin. As Sarah is there Todd suggests it would be a good time for her to make up.

Dennis asks Kevin who is walking down the road with Molly about his plutonic relationship. Molly says all will be sorted by next week when she has a date.

Todd eventaully persuades Candice to apologise.

Spider invites Toyah for dinner. He is pleased when she says she is coming alone.

Tyrone is depressed. He is closing his and Maria's wedding savings account.

Norris wants to ring Emily about Spider having a guest round to tea. Rita tells him not to, it will make him look silly.

Les tells Janice to get home from work early. She is invited to an early night in "Battersby's Passion Palour"!

Fred notes that Mike is happier. He says he is resigned to trying to get on with a normal life.

Tyrone explains to Maria that he has withdrawn the savings account, and he is giving the money back to the people who gave it to them.

Kevin asks Molly about her date. She says his name is John, and he is a rep. She would like to ask him back to the house if that is ok. Kevin is a bit jealous.

Todd and Candice bump into Sarah. Candice offers to forgive Sarah, and forget it. Sarah says she has done nothing wrong for Candice to forgive her for.

Jimmy Sykes and friend go to see Mike. Fred tries to persuade them not to go, but to no avail.

Janice tells Dennis that Les has a romantic night planned for her.

Maria wants to give the money back to Vera. She won't accept it.

Fred rushes round to the Rovers to see Eve.

Maria tells Vera that there is no chance that her and Tyrone will get back together.

Jimmy and his friend go to the factory. Mike tries to tell them to get out. They ignore him.

Spider tells Toyah that he wants to set up a juice producing factory. He needs 20% capital. Spider asks Toyah about Sam. She says they are very good friends.

Vera tells Jack that it breaks her heart about Tyrone and Maria. Tyrone comes in and tries to give her his share of the money. Vera gives it back to him, plus Maria's share.

Fred tries to persuade Eve to stop her son. She refuses. He says he doesn't see the woman that he married. Fred explains that Jimmy wants a pay-off from Mike for sending the flowers to her. Eve relents and angrily rushes to the factory.

In the factory, Jimmy is "spinning" Mike inside a cardbord box. She tries to stop Jimmy. She is disgusted that he sent the flowers. She tells him to get out of the factory, however not before he thereatns Mike again. Eve threatens to call the police if he should return.

Spider doesn't understand why Toyah has gone back to the Battersby house. She tells him she was raped.

Les thinks Janice is fed up with him. She denies it, but is a bit stand-offish with her.

Spider is annoyed that he wasn't around when the rape happened. However Toyah says there is nothing he could have done. They are both very upset.

Tonight's episode started with Janice telling Les that it was a lovely Chinese meal the night before and hugging him tightly, she then went through to the table with her cup of tea and said nothing Les was a bit perturb and asked her if anything was up she said no. They talked about Toyah staying out with Spider all night as there was a knock at the door, it was Sam wondering where Toyah was and Les was about to tell him the truth but Janice put him right and gave Les a telling off.

At Kevin's flat, Molly asked Kevin to be scarce as she may bring John back after there date on the town, Kevin and her were trying to make up there differences from the night before and he agreed to stay out of the way.

At Emily's, Norris was sneaking about as Toyah and Spider were sleeping in the living room, then the door opened and it was Emily and Norris was surprised to see her so early and she asked him why he was whispering and Norris told her about her unexpected guests she was now a bit shocked and went in to see who it was. Spider sat up with Toyah and said "Hi auntie EM, she said "Geoffrey what a great surprise he got up and hugged her Norris looked surprised.

Over at the garage, Tyrone was outside making arrangements with Fizz for that evening when Kevin asked Tyrone if he planned to do any work, Tyrone told Fizz that he would meet her in the cafe at dinner time. Inside the garage, Sam was talking to Dennis when he noticed the door of number 3 open and Toyah giving Spider a goodbye kiss on the cheek, Sam wanted to go over and ask what was going on but Dennis managed to detain him.

In the Cafe, Fizz was telling Tyrone that she thought they could go to this new club in town, Vera heard them talking and told Tyrone not "to go and blow all his money on rubbish" Fizz was disheartold by this but it did not put her off. Over at another table Curly and Emma were having something to eat and then Curly went up to Vera and told her it must be heard with Terry's hearing so close now and he said "I will be there for you" and Vera thanked him very much.

Over at Number 3, Emily was catching up with all of Geoffrey's news when there was a knock at the door, it was Sam and as they were both having there lunch he cut straight to the chase and asked Spider what was going on between him and Toyah, Emily was not happy with Sam's tone as it was becoming more and more aggressive and it ended up with him and Spider at Loggerheads when Emily broke it off and Sam left.

INTERVAL

In the Rover's, Eve and Fred were having a chat about I think Linda's disappearance, when Mike walked in Eve went straight over to him and asked him what he wanted to drink, Mike was surprised by this and asked Fred what it was all about. Fred told that Eve was trying to put the past behind her.

Back at number 3, Emily was reading her paper and asking Geoffrey how long he was planning to stay as she went to out in a pot of tea for them both. Geoffrey then told her he was planning to set up a small business and she asked what it was he said it was an Organic Juice bar. Emily told him that there was no call for one in Weatherfield and he said stretam. He then said he needed money £20,000 to be exact and Emily was duely surprised.

Next door at number 5, Janice was telling Dennis that she did not think it was a good idea that they carry on seeing each other as it was sure to destroy Les when he finds out, Dennis could not understand her change of heart and told her he loved her very much, just then Tyrone and Fizz passed by and said hello on there way for their evening out. The scene ended with Janice closing the door on Dennis and it was clear to see that he was upset.

At the restaurant, Fizz and Tyrone were asked what they would like to order, Tyrone just said I will have what ever she is having so Fizz ordered it all in French and Tyrone was very impressed and he just ordered the Champagne.

Back at the Rover's, it was busy and Emily and Norris were having a drink, when Toyah and Sam came in and Toyah told Sam that Spider were joining them for a drink sam was not happy but it went well in the end.

Back at the Restaurant, Fizz said to Tyrone that they would make a run for it as the bill was very big and she did not want to pay it, it was clear to see that tyrone was not very happy and ended up paying the bill before they went without Fizz knowing.

Back in the Rover's, Dougie told Kevin he looked down and asked him if he wanted to come to a new club and in the end Kevin said yes.

Back at Kevin's flat, Kevin was getting ready to go out with Douggie when Molly brought her dare John back and did not relise Kevin was there, The 2 Daters got comfortable and Kevin noticed this and started to spy on them. When Molly relised she was angry and said "You just don't like to see anyone happy do you", Kevin said don't be silly and by this time John had walked out and that is how the episode ended.

Friday 16 November

Les and Janice are having breakfast in the cafe and Les waxes lyrical about the great British sausage. From Janice's expression, he concludes that he's done something wrong, but she says he hasn't and suggests they go out this evening - a pizza, maybe? Les thinks a pizza (another great British institution!) is a good idea... Sam calls in to see Toyah, just to find out how she is; he buys some butties after Toyah reassures him she's fine. Kevin tries to persuade Molly to give their flat-sharing another go, but she declines.

Vera continues to worry about Terry, and where he could be. She tells Jack that his running away proves his innocence, but Jack holds a different view. Vera insists that Terry has lost faith in British justice.

In the Kabin, Curly tells Rita that Terry has done a runner from the court. Fiz is proud of Tyrone, her 'bad boy'. Les suggests to Dennis that he and Eileen should join Janice and him on their night out, but Dennis refuses.

Spider meets Toyah in the street, but she's in a hurry so she'll see him later. Vikram tells Tyrone that the police have found his car and, as the police arrive across the road, Vikram hopes that, when they find who stole the car, they'll lock him up and throw away the key; Tyrone does not look happy.

The police arrive chez the Duckworths to search for the wayward Terry. Vera protests Terry's innocence, but Jack says that the police are only doing their job.

Emily arrives at the clinic while Gail and Molly are chatting. She tells Molly that she and Kevin make a lovely couple. Emily asks Gail if her, em, Richard could advise her on a financial matter.

Tyrone, at the garage, watches the police drive off, and Kevin asks him where he was yesterday instead of being at work. Tyrone had a bad tummy, he explains. Sam asks Kevin if he thinks Toyah has any feelings for Spider, but Kevin doesn't know, or care.

Jo Doyle, Terry's solicitor, arrives at Jack and Vera's. She advises them that, if Terry gets in touch, they should tell him to turn himself in. Further, she lets the cat out of the bag about Vera paying for her to represent Terry. Jack blows a fuse.

In the Rovers, Janice meets Dennis, and they talk about how hard the situation is for them both. Molly tells Kevin that she's booked a cab for her move, and doesn't need help. When she leaves, Curly advises Kevin to tell Molly how he really feels. Kevin doesn't want anyone's advice, and leaves.

Vera eventually admits to Jack that, so far, she's spent about ?3,000 on fees to secure a fair trial for Terry. Tyrone arrives and wonders what's going on. Jack contrasts Tyrone's decency and honesty with their rat of a son, and he tells Tyrone that Vera has been taking lessons in lying and cheating from Terry.

Gail brings Richard to Emily's, as promised, and leaves for work. Emily wants to know the cost of his advice, and he explains his position regarding commission.

Back at the Duckworths, Vera is still protesting that she only cares for her son, as any mother would, but Jack is sick and tired of hearing about Terry. If he were more devious, he says, he would ask for his pigeons back, and Vera readily agrees, if that's what he wants.

In the cafe, Toyah reassures Sam that he's her boyfriend, not Spider, and she pulls him towards her for a kiss. They'll see each other later. Emily explains to Spider that, since she's signed up for a Home Reversion Plan with Richard, she'll soon have the money to invest in Spider's proposed business, not as a loan, but as part of his eventual inheritance. Spider hugs his Auntie Em, while Toyah looks on.

In the Rovers, Kevin assures Curly that Molly is only a friend. Vikram bounces in and tells Tyrone and Fiz that he's got his car back, undamaged. However, he did find a large pair of knickers in the car, but he'll get the interior steam-cleaned! Emily tells Rita about her financial arrangements. Richard tells Gail about his meeting with the 'little old lady' and jokes about taking advantage of Emily. Molly arrives to return the flat keys to Kevin, which is noticed by some others. Kevin makes a public announcement that he and Molly are friends, only that, and Molly seconds that, before the two of them exit together.

At the Battersby's, Spider arrives just as Les and Janice are going out. Spider tells Toyah that he still has feelings for her, and invites her to come to London with him. Toyah says they're not real feelings, only memories of feelings, but Spider insists that he wants to be with her - can she deny she feels differently? Toyah shakes her head...

Molly and Kevin get back to the flat. They laugh about their joint announcement in the Rovers and Kevin seems glad that Molly will stay. He kisses her, then reminds her of what he's just said in the pub. Molly counters his words with, "No more talking"...

Sunday 18 November

Written by Peter Whalley, directed by Colin Cant, sponsored by Cadbury's Miniature Heroes.

Janice and Les are arguing again - the alarm was not set. Toyah sits impassively at the table ignoring them. Les demands lunch at 13:00 - and then they can make a proper Sunday of it. Janice asks Toyah what is the matter and she reveals that Spider wants to try again. Toyah recalls the happy times, she still feels close to him. And Sam? That is why Toyah wants someone to decide for her.

Kevin and Molly are sitting in the same armchair, both wearing their dressing gowns (what have they been doing?). Kev does not want to make another public announcement. So is she still the lodger - she suggests they wait and see what happens.

Terry descends from the cab of a lorry, his hand and the cuffs hidden in a plastic bag.

Richard walks into the Kabin followed by Emily. She is just off to church - but she is not mistaken the meeting they have arranged is later. Emily and Norris discuss her planned sale of the house. She wishes she had not told him. Norris is worried about Richard's credentials. Norris thinks Emily is being very foolish.

Janice asks Toyah about her course - she will get another place. Janice tells her listen to what her heart tells her. Janice tells her to be selfish - even if it hurts someone - but these things cannot be avoided. Janice is clearly distressed and ignores the knock at the door until she has finished. Then she lets Spider in. He asks Toyah if she has reached a decision. She is not yet ready to make a decision - but he is catching a train at 4pm - but if she wants some time to think about it.

Vera comes in - but there have been no calls from Terry. Jack and Vera discuss the situation - they almost argue as they recount the "facts". Vera still believes in Terry and his story. Jack says that Terry has not been in contact and he won't.

Janice and Dennis paths cross briefly before the scene moves to the garage where Tyrone is working under the watchful eye of Fiz. Vik arrives in his impregnable BMW sports car. Apparently since the joy riding incident the engine sounds different - so perhaps Tyrone could give it the once over - and he gives Tyrone the keys. Fiz wants another ride but Tyrone says no, he has listened to her too much. She reminds him that he enjoyed it.

Spider emerges from the Battersbys - and is observed by Sam who tells Spider to stay away from her. Spider tells Sam that Toyah will be going to London with him - but she tells Sam that she has not reached a decision - she wants time to think about it. Sam is not sure but goes.

The police turn up - they are looking for Terry and arrive at the Duck Eggs to search the house a second time. Terry has been seen in the area - and they need to make sure. A policeman checking the ginnel at the back is looking the wrong way when Terry appears in view and spotting the uniform immediately disappears out of sight again.

After the break we join the signing ceremony at Emily's. Norris asks if there is a cooling off period. Spider and Norris exchange insults and Spider takes his money. She hopes his business will be a great success and he volunteers to pay her back - she tells him again that he is simply getting his money early.

Tyrone, Fiz and Vik walk into the Rovers. Tyrone re-assures Vik the car is fine and does not charge him - after all he did no work. Sam returns the garage keys to Kev who is having a drink with Molly and Sam tells them that he lost Toyah to Spider. Kev observes that Sam is going to be difficult to work with and Molly notes that she knows a man who used to be difficult and Kev wants to know what has happened to him. Molly says he goes round with a big smile on his face and no-one knows why!!!

Sam tells his sad story to Dennis - but Sam bemoans his lot. Janice arrives and asks if Dennis wants to go for a walk. He agrees.

Spider arrives at Toyah's - he is £15,000 better off. Toyah has decided she is not going with Spider - it will not work. Spider wants to start again - but she does not want to. She is going to stay with Sam - for now - but she is not the same person. She does not want to go - but she just wants to stay put - she does not want to be with Spider again. He is unhappy.

Janice and Dennis are discussing matters under the arches. Dennis loves Janice and Janice admits she no longer loves Les. Les arrives in the Rovers looking for Janice - he wants his lunch but there is no sign of any food. Dennis says he will give up Eileen - so when are they going to do it - after the holiday - when they get back. Then they will meet and depart.

Spider is on his way and asks Toyah to change her mind. She refuses and they embrace - she tells him to be happy. He gets in the cab and goes.

In the Rovers Janice, Dennis and Les are having a drink. Janice and Les row over the non-existent meal.

Toyah arrives in the Rovers and tells Sam about her decision. Sam immediately misreads her decision. He thinks he has been chosen in preference to Spider - but Toyah does not correct him.

On the other side of the Rovers Vera, Norris and Rita discuss Terry who at that moment is arriving home where Jack lets him in the back door - and he is not moving. Jack is lost for words.

See you all next week

Les comes round to the garage. As Dennis opens the garage door Les is there. Janice hides. Les asks if he had seen Janice, he has no dinner waiting for him on the table.

When Maxine goes Charlie asks why Emma used her as an excuse. Emma says Maxine is rather OTT. Charlie says that she doesn't like the thought of an ante natal clinic, but agrees to go this once.

Dennis comes round. He tells Les that he is doing revising for the pub quiz.

Jack goes out to Terry and tells him to go to the allotment. As Jack is leaving the garden and bumps into Emma. He is startled. Emma sympathises with Jack and his family problems. She tells him if Terry gets in touch he should tell the police.

Sam says he feels like a millionaire now that Toyah has agreed to stay with him.

Kevin and Molly are very happy they are together.

Janice asks Dennis how he is going to tell Eileen when they decide it is the time. He says he has lied awake thinking about it. He wants to give Eileen a good christmas first before telling her.

Terry likes the allotment shed. A neighbour comes round. Invites him to a card game. Jack makes and excuse that he can't come. The neighbour thinks he is having a bit of extra maritial activity.

Janice is annoyed that Dennis won't say anything till after Christmas. She was hoping to bring it into the 'open' now. He says when they get back from holiday they will find themselves somethwere to rent.

Terry is worried that nobody will believe him when he says he is innocence.

Tonight's episode starts in Jack and Vera's where Vera is on the phone and when she hears Jack she puts the phone down and comes into the living room where Jack is. Jack asks who it was and Vera said she hoped it would be Terry, Jack then tells Vera he is going out and Vera asks this early Jack just says he has things to do and goes.

At Emily's, Norris is a bit worried about Emily selling the house she tells him that she did not do it for herself it was for Geoffrey but Norris can not understand why and she explains, this goes on for a while till Emily tells Norris he is going to be late for work and he runs off to work.

In the Cafe, Charlie and Emma and Curly and Molly were all discussing Emma's Antenatal Class which Charlie has agreed to go along to with her as Curly has a council matting to attend this evening. Meanwhile over at another table, Kevin is having his breakfast with Dennis when Eileen walks in and they walk to work together.

At the garage, when Eileen has left Dennis for work he spots Janice and she tells him that she has been looking at the paper and there are a few flats in Chatmen street, Dennis is amazed and tells Janice that it is on the other side of the Red Reck. Janice arranges for him to come over for his dinner and they will discuss it then.

At Jack's allotment, Terry was surprised to see him and when he bought him things to eat and the 5,000 he was grateful and Jack said now you can clear off and Vera doesn't need to know about this and Jack left Terry in the Shed.

Dennis turned up at Janice's and they started to discuss their plans on where to live when they move in together in the near future hopefully, as they were discussing there plains unknown to them Toyah was out the back putting out the bins and when she came back in and heard them I think she was shocked and walked out closing the door behind her. Janice got a shock and Dennis went to see what it was, but Toyah was out of site.

INTERVAL

At the Antenatal Class, Charlie and Emma were doing there bit and Charlie was copying everything that Emma was doing and giving Emma a back masage, Charlie then started to laugh and Emma asked her what was funny she said nothing and then they both laughed as the couple next to them were surprised and charlie kept laughing when the nurse came over to see what was the fun all about Charlie said "Sorry Miss" but did not stop laughing.

At Number 5, Toyah came to see Janice to ask her what was going on and Les was in and then Janice came in from work and he left to go to the Rover's and Toyah laid into Janice about her and Dennis, she said she had seen them at lunchtime and that there plans would break Les's heart and she was very disappointed in her mum for doing it.

In the Rover's, Charlie was waxing lyrical about the Antenatal class and Emma and her were telling curly about how the couple next to them thought they were couple, Curly looked surprised and then Molly joined them and told them about her and Kevin and by this time Sally and Martin were listing and then Kevin walked in and Curly got up and congratulated him and it took a few seconds to relise what was happening for Kevin but then he knew and was very happy.

At the bar, Dennis was having a pint with Les and Eileen, then they both went to the toilet and Janice came in and they started talking about thereselvesn, Eileen then came back and sent Dennis for chips as she went home.

On the way back from getting the chips, Dennis bumped into Toyah who was not very happy about her mum going out with him and she gave him a piece of her mind and got quite angry then walked off.

Up at the allotment, Jack went back to see if Terry had gone but he was still there and Jack was not pleased to see him this time and told him to go, Terry said that he would not go and was staying put in the shed and Jack was not going to move him on at all so don't even try.

Dennis tells Janice about Toyah, and she says it is time they came clean.

Friday 23 November

Eileen is busy packing for her holiday to Tenerife, watched by her boys who claim they'll miss her. Dennis warns the boys to behave - 'Your mother is never unhappy alone'. Eileen forbids any partying in her absence.

Emily opens a letter, while Norris does what he's best at - poking his nose into other people's affairs. (Maybe that should be 'business'?) Emily tells him that she trusts Richard; after all, he's Alma's cousin, and he is, well, close to Gail. Norris asks to see the letter, but is refused by Emily, who then quotes from Voltaire - 'This is the best of all possible worlds!'

Tyrone is under the bonnet of a car when the buxom Fizz arrives and playfully feels his bum. Where are they going to use for their next passion session? The guy from Wetherfield Windows arrives to see Kevin; his pay-off is to be £600 next month, not £500. Kevin protests, but he's interrupted - someone is coming to see Kevin...

In the cafe, Maria is talking to Kirk, her brother (do these two have the same parents?). He wants Maria to get Eileen's boys to organize a party, but Maria refuses to comply. He stomps off, but not before calling Blanche and the new lollipop lady a couple of 'coffin dodgers'. Maria speaks to Vera, and tells her that Jack is not being unfaithful to her - 'How could he, when he can't manage it with you?' Maria admits that, the more she learns about men, the less she's interested.

Les is full of the joys of life. Janice is decidedly not! While Toyah is seen in the background, Janice asks Les if he's organized the pesetas. He hasn't. Les exits, leaving Toyah to ask her Mum how she can go through with this charade of a holiday. Janice will have to tell Les, Toyah says, but Janice gets angry - the stress is getting to her...

At the garage, Karl Harper arrives and offers Kevin the chance to 'clock' some high-mileage cars for him. Kevin refuses, but Karl advises him to sleep on it...

At Jack's shed, Terry's day-dreams are interrupted by the noisy arrival of Tyrone and Fizz. Terry hides himself behind Jack's bar, while the pair of love-birds get down, literally, to their passion...

Les arrives home, late. He still hasn't got the pesetas. Janice nags him. Les goes upstairs to pack, having borrowed a suitcase from Karen. Toyah thinks that Janice is being unfair on Les. Janice is dreading the holiday and Toyah reckons that 'someone will get murdered'...

Back at the shed, Terry is still hiding very uncomfortably, while Tyrone and Fizz enjoy themselves, quite unaware of their audience.

Les has finished packing, but Janice looks very depressed. Les assures her that she's the only woman for him, but Janice says that she's forgotten some things and rushes off to the shop. Les tells Toyah that he doesn't know what she, Janice, has to moan about...

Jason tells Kirk that there is no party. Eileen is going to have a bath, but Dennis is going to the pub. Eileen doesn't want to spend all their time in Tenerife with Les and Janice. She knows that Les can be a pain at times, but she also knows that Janice would go to the ends of the earth for him...

At the garage, Kevin tells Molly about his problem with his monthly pay-off and the offer to 'clock' some cars. Steve arrives to collect his taxi, which is going, as he says, to run the Battersbys to the airport, and some peace for them all. Driving out of the garage, Steve meets Janice and tells her not to keep him back when he calls for them later. Janice has just come out of the Kabin, presumably to get her pesetas, only to see Eileen giving Dennis a big cuddle before he goes to the Rovers. (How long can poor Janice keep this pretence up?)

Jack arrives at his shed, only to hear the voices of Tyrone and Fizz. He makes a hasty retreat.

In the Rovers, Norris is wittering on to Emily about her 'arrangement'. However, Emily makes the situation very clear - if he's not happy with his lodgings, he can find somewhere else. Les arrives at the bar and Duggie asks him: 'dos cervecas'? Les tells him he's going to Tenerife, not Spain, and he'll not have any of that 'foreign muck' - they'll (he and Dennis) just have beer!

Back at the shed, Tyrone and Fizz prepare to leave their love nest. Terry is relieved. Jack arrives, with some old clothes for Terry. Jack seems to believe Terry's story, but asks him not to prove him wrong again. (A wee moment of male bonding ensues.)

Steve arrives in his taxi to collect the quartet for the airport, but Janice isn't there.

Janice looks out of her window and sees the taxi. She assures Toyah that she'll 'paint her smile on' for the holiday. They hug.

Steve is still waiting for Janice to make an appearance. Dennis goes to fetch her.

Toyah and Janice say goodbye, just as Dennis arrives. He assures her that everything will be alright, but Janice is not convinced. At last, Janice says that she can't go on the holiday. Les arrives, to see what's keeping Janice, who asks Dennis to go, for she has something to tell Les. Dennis exits.

Steve is still waiting for his passengers and Blanche and the lollipop lady try to commandeer the taxi, at pensioners' rates of course! Eileen assumes that Les and Janice have had a row.

Les confronts Janice - what's wrong? Janice, near to tears, tells him that she can't go on the holiday, but Les doesn't understand. Janice tells him that she's not only not going on the holiday, but that their marriage is over; she's leaving him.

Sunday 25 November

Events this evening in Weatherfield were entirely related to a single storyline as the Battersby / Stringer story explodes into public knowledge. Rather than a line by line transcription I propose to shorten the report: a) there is no great suspense and b) there is no relieving entertainment (or indeed fights) to provide a counterpoint.

Episode written by Peter Whalley, directed by John Anderson.

Events commence inside the Battersby resident where Les takes sometimes to understand precisely what Janice is telling him - after all he just wants to depart on his holiday. Sadly not Janice has decided she is not going on holiday and indeed she is going to leave Les - things have not been going well between them and Janice admits that it is her fault - she has been having a relationship and this means that she no longer wants to be with Les.

Steadily even the dark recesses of Les's mind begins to grasp the horrendous news - he is on his own again and even though he tries to convince her that she needs the holiday and that he has listened to her - but even he finally begins to believe that Janice is serious.

Janice admits that the other party is Dennis and she has been sleeping with him and it has been going on for weeks and Dennis will leave Eileen as well. Janice will not be coming back. Janice has to admit that they have used the marital bed amongst other revelations typical of such situations. Les wants to kill Janice - or beat her but he is not going to make it easy. Janice says it was not easy - but she loves Dennis. Janice tries to explain that she did not know how to stop them coming on holiday. Janice denies they have been laughing at Les and Eileen and no it is not a wind up. He gives her five minutes to get packed and depart and if he ever sees her again he will kill her.

Next door Eileen is wondering what is going on. Dennis knows but cannot tell yet and he volunteers to go next door (as much to prevent Eileen as a wish to interfere). He tells Eileen to make some tea - just in case they are delayed further. Outside he passes Steve who wonders when the free ride to the airport will get underway.

Dennis knocks on the Battersby's front door - and it is opened by Les. Les greets him with a shout to Janice - "Your fancy man is here". Dennis apologises and they almost brawl but it achieves nothing. Les threatens Dennis. Janice says sorry again - but it happened because she wanted it - she takes the blame. Les wants to know what he has done wrong. Janice is called a lying cow by Les who also tears into Dennis - his best friend. Dennis is going to tell Eileen and then come back for Janice. On the way past he collects the bags from Steve's car and tells him there will be no trip.

Eileen starts asking questions and Dennis says she is going to hate him - but why she wants to know. Well says Dennis reluctantly Janice has been having an affair and is leaving Les. But why will Eileen hate him - because Janice has been having an affair with him.

He is right - she does hate him, once she believes him although as with Les it takes some time to sink in, just what has been going on, although Dennis has difficulty getting the words out, admitting the affair. He knows that he deserves everything that she is going to say. She has been kind and loving and she does not deserve this. Eileen cannot believe that Dennis is leaving her for Janice.

Janice is packing. Les offers to try and put things right but tells Janice she is not going but Janice says she definitely is going - although she knows not where.

Eileen arrives and wants to hear it from Janice direct. Janice tells her that she is leaving Les and going with Dennis if he will have her. Dennis has followed Eileen and the latter asks him to choose between her and Janice. Dennis has to make an instant decision and chooses Janice. Eileen departs and Dennis follows to talk to her. As Eileen returns home Jason and Todd appear. She tells Dennis that he cannot set foot in her house.

They want to know what is going on when she instructs them to get bin bags and remove all of Dennis's possessions. She tells them that the wonderful Dennis she told them to respect is lying scum and they should no longer respect him despite all she has said in the past. She tells them of the affair and that he is going with Janice. They set about their new task.

Janice listens to a lot more of Les's ranting; I cannot bring myself to inflicting it all again - just Les is trying to get Janice to change her mind and does not succeed.

Jason and Todd have collected most of Dennis's possessions and they are told to take the three bin bags out to him. The stereo system and dumb bells can be sold later. Todd wants to know if this has to happen and he moves to comfort Eileen - she is just getting over the shock. Jason dumps the bags outside and Dennis asks if he can talk to Eileen after telling Jason that he must not think that he is anyway to blame - it is entirely down to events elsewhere. Indeed Jason and Todd were the reason Dennis had stayed.

Toyah arrives and immediately knows that Janice has told Les and admits that she has known. Les turns on Toyah and tells Janice to take her daughter with her. Janice tells Les that he is being unreasonable but he will not listen. Les senses that if Toyah knows perhaps many more knew? All deny it.

Jason returns inside and tells Eileen that Dennis would like a word. Whilst she does not want to she goes outside, the boys convince her to listen to him. Dennis knows how she feels - he did not want to upset and would have done anything to avoid it - as Eileen points out he could have avoided it. Dennis never wanted to hurt her. He does not want to be her enemy - as she points out she is now the worst enemy he has got and she pushes him away.

She returns inside and tells the boys that Dennis wanted her forgiveness but she refused and she is upset and still crying she goes upstairs. Both Eileen and Janice spend much of the episode crying.

Janice says good bye to Toyah and tells Les not to take it out on Toyah. Even Les is crying now. He asks her again to stay. She has to do it. If she goes she cannot come back - Les says it twice. Janice goes outside and she and Dennis look at each other. Both smile and they kiss observed by Les. Dennis takes his bags and they walk along the Street until the shot is just one of a distraught Les.

Sorry if you feel short changed this evening - but seriously replaying the script this evening would achieve little. Not memorable - say in the way it was when Ken found out about Deirdre and Mike and certainly inevitable given recent weeks but perhaps missing an edge, as we know that Dennis will not be with us long. Why do these stories get out? I know it is a ratings war but is there any need to give so much away?

And finally are there any more volunteers willing to write updates. The additional Thursday episodes are not being reported for our foreign readers and this slot will also become vacant shortly - I will not be writing these updates after the end of the year.

Tonight's episode started in Jack and Vera's house with Jack and Vera talking about Terry in the shed up on Jack's allotment, Tyrone came down and at the dorr heard Jack and Vera talking about helping Terry out and he heard the word out and got quite upset as he thought they meant him not Terry. Vera was getting worried and told Jack she would go and give Terry some food Jack said He would take it but after force from Vera he let her go on her own.

Over at Dennis and Janice's new flat, they were very comfortable and Dennis wanted to get something to eat for his breakfast, Janice said there was no rush they were on their holidays and Dennis said all right and they both got up to head for the street.

At Emily's, It was breakfast time and Emily said to Norris "should you not be at the Kabbin by now" as they had been discussing money matters as Emily was going to the bank, Norris said know Rita was going out in the afternoon so he was going in latter Emily said ok and went off to the bank. As soon as she was gone Norris started to look for Emily's documents about selling the house over to that company he found the papers and went through them.

Out on the street, Dennis and Janice had come to work, on their way down the street they bumped into the Grimshaws and Eileen went hammer and tongs at Janice and so did Jason, but Maria managed to stop them although it was clear to see that the boys and Eileen were both very annoyed. At number 5's window Les watched what was going on in the street and got all excited and thought Janice had come back to him. Then Dennis and Janice turned away and Dennis kissed Janice the next minute, Les was up shouting out his window all sorts of comments and started to throw out Janice's belongings in to the middle of the street as Sam rushed to came Les down, Toyah took her mum to the cafe fir a nice cup of tea.

In the Cafe, Janice had a cup of tea while Toyah began serving the other customers, at another table Norris met Ken and told him his plan on what to do about Emily's house and asked for Ken's help, Ken was a bit reluctant to help Norris as he did not like going behind Emily's back, but he did give Norris the address of a house in Manchester which could help him he thanked Ken and went out.

INTERVAL

In Underworld when Janice walked in Bobbi had a bit of laugh about their holiday plan to Tenerife, Karen could see this is not what Janice wanted and went to put the Kettle on as Janice had come to see Mike about starting her work as Dennis had got the ok from Kevin from the garage.

Over at number 5, Les was chatting to Sam about his happy times with Janice and told him that he could not understand why she had left him and Sam just tried to say the best thing he could as he was not very good at this sort of thing. Les then said that he could not sit around his house for ever waiting for Janice as she was not coming back, Sam said lets go to the Rover's but Les was a bit worried about everyone's reaction towards him but they went.

When Les went into the Rover's and Sam ordered the drinks he was quite surprised by everyone's reactions as Sally came over and said if their was anything she could do then she would be happy to help him out. Ken then said the same from the other side of the bar. At another table Jason and Maria were talking about Eileen and Maria told him to go and ask Sally for advice so he went over and persuaded Sally to go and have a word with his mum. At the bar both Les and Sam were having good fun although I do think he was drunk Les ever so slightly.

Fizz and Tyrone were also talking about moving as what Tyrone had heard earlier that day.

At the Grimshaws, Sally and Eileen had a bottle of wine while they chatted about Dennis and their relationships in general and they both had company Eileen who certainly needed it.

At the flat where Dennis and Janice are living, Toyah came round so that her and her mum could talk, Janice was quite surprised what Toyah had to say as she told her mum that Les really missed her and it was hard to pick up the pieces where she left them. Janice started to get a bit annoyed with Toyah but when Toyah started to say it was not just Les she was leaving but her as well Janice said she would always be there for her and she was not leaving her it got quite tearful between the both of them and that is how the episode finished.

Thursday 29 November

Early morning and Toyah finds Les on the sette, where he has been all night, with an empty can in his hand and cigarette ends scattered around, she advises him to try and pull himself together, and to bathe and shave would be a good start, he agrees with her.

Tyrone is met by the car dealer who has offered him money to 'clock'cars, his first one one will be tomorrow and worth £200, they arrange a time and a place.

Vera sees Emma in the street and asks her advice, she is unwilling to become involved as she has nothing to do with the case, but advises once more that Terry should give himself up if he contacts them, Vera says he is innocent, Emma looks sceptical.

Janice and Karen are walking to work, she wants to know all the 'juicy' details, Janice tells her although she did not have a happy marriage, she did not trap anyone as she had done to Steve, she is speechless.

Dennis is knocking at Eileen's door, he's worried about her, but she is very bitter, he offers her money to help them out, she orders him out.

Vera is working at "Roys Rolls" Tyrone comes in and tells her he is leaving at the weekend after what he heard, she says he has got it all wrong, and takes him to one side, she needs his help.

Emma is telling Curly about her conversation with Vera, he is not pleased, at the moment she has enough to contend with, and needs lots of peace, rest and no hassle, he will have a word with Vera.

Emily is talking to Ken in the Rovers, saying that Norris has been much quieter of late, little does she know.

Dennis is still apologising to Eileen who is weeping, she cannot understand why he did it and with Janice Battersby of all people, he offers his address, she tells him to leave and throws it away.

Fizz has got the bit between her teeth and is looking for a 'love nest' for her and Tyrone, he tells her it is all a misunderstanding, she still wants him to leave the Duckworth's but he is not ready to commit yet.

Norris comes into the Rovers with a large envelope tucked under his arm and tells Ken he has proof about Richard, he is a Director of the company who have bought Emily's house, but there is a female of the same name who is also a Director, his eyes gleam, definitely something suspicious.

Les has cleaned himself up and tells Toyah he is going back to work, he thanks her for the support she has given, without which he would not have coped.

Les goes to see Eileen and does not endear himself by remarking 'although she is past it' there may be someone else for her, she retaliates by saying if he had kept Janice happy and treated her properly this would not have happened at all and she and Dennis would still be together, and the only person to blame for all of this is...him.

Terry is 'catnapping' in the shed when there is a knock at the door, it is Vera but she has Tyrone with her, they have both come to ttake him home for a bath and a good meal, he will be back before Jack returns from the Legion, it will be their secret.

Les is sitting in Rovers deep in thought, Karen asks him to join her and Steve but he refuses and leaves. Norris has at last found Emily and want to talk to her, but she pre-empts him by saying she is happy with Richard's handling of her case and if he starts again he could find himself evicted, Norris does not speak.

Tyrone and Terry are sitting down to a lovely home-cooked meal, but Jack comes back early from the Legion, he is shocked when he sees Terry and angry with Vera for involving Tyrone, then there is a knock at the door, they are all running around like headless chickens, Terry and Vera go through the back door, Jack answers the front door, it is Curly, wanting to see Vera about her conversation with Emma, Jack apologises for her absence and says he will give her the message. Terry and Vera come back in and although Jack is not happy, Vera wants Terry to sleep at home and to return to his shed in the early hours, Jack agrees reluctantly.

Dennis and Janice are in their home discussing all that has led them to where they are now, there is a knock at the door, Dennis wants to ignore it but Janice says it could be Toyah, but no it is Les who wants to talk to Janice alone, a very subdued Les who has obviously been thinking and needs to know why they have split up, was it so bad, when did she stop loving him, she admits not being happy for a number of years and although she tried to talk to him he didn't listen,Les is devastated, thinking if they could clear the air she would come back, but that is not going to happen, he breaks down and finally admits that he is to blame, and then walks out into the night.

Friday 30 November

Jack and Vera are discussing Terry, who has spent the night under their roof, while Tyrone has had to sleep on the couch. Terry appears, to find Vera cooking him breakfast; he's had a great sleep, but Jack tells him he'll have to go back to the shed immediately.

Les wakens, on his couch, surrounded by empty bottles of beer. Toyah brings him a mug of tea, but he needs some paracetamol for his hangover. He tells Toyah that he's been to see Janice, who let him know that she doesn't love him any more - he's lost everything, and doesn't know what he's going to do. Toyah comforts him, but he's a broken man.

Vera shows Terry out the back door: Tyrone will be waiting in the car at the end of the lane. Just as he's slinking off, Curly spies him and suggests that he give himself up. However, Terry advises him not to 'grass' on him for, if he did, Vera and Jack would then become accessories, and Curly wouldn't want that.

In the cafe, Steve asks Eileen how she is. She replies that, with men, it's 'easy come, easy go' and that she's fine. Steve will meet her for a drink in the Rovers at lunch-time. After all, Eileen says that she's done nothing to be ashamed of. Toyah tells Sam that she's worried about Les, but he reassures her that 'it's early days'. Norris asks Gail about Richard's deceased wife; was it Patricia? Gail volunteers the information that his wife was called Marion.

The police make a call at the Duckworth's. They notice that the lodger, Tyrone, has slept on the couch, but Tyrone assures them that he came in late and didn't want to disturb anyone. The cops once more advise Vera to get her son, whom she claims is innocent, to give himself up.

Les is in the Rovers, drinking whisky. Geena welcomes Eileen back. Steve has just ordered drinks for Eileen and him when Karen arrives. She accuses Eileen of 'not being able to keep a man' and Eileen, upset, leaves without even touching her double vodka. Steve asks his wife why she's being so nasty and Karen admits that she's never liked Eileen. Emma is trying to talk to Curly, but he has other things on his mind. Emma thinks that her talk of babies is boring him, but Curly blames his inattention on some worries at work.

Todd comes out of the Kabin and Dennis runs across to talk to him. Todd doesn't want to hear what he has to say, and says that his Mum is right - he's just like all the rest. Tyrone arranges his first car-clocking job.

Eileen calls in at the factory where Janice is spending her lunch hour, alone. Eileen wants to have a chat - about when, where and why. Janice admits that she always sort of fancied Dennis and that she never meant to hurt Eileen - Dennis and she just fell in love. Eileen warns her that Dennis will cheat on Janice too - after all, he's such an accomplished liar. Janice tells Eileen that she's having a great time, being slagged-off on all sides. Eileen's self-control snaps and she lands a nifty right punch on Janice, who collapses on the floor. Eileen exits, just as Fiz and Karen arrive, having just missed the action!

Dennis rushes into the factory, having been summoned by Fiz, to see to Janice, whose lip is bleeding. Janice picks herself up, and admits that she feels relieved that their first meeting is now over!

In the cafe, Norris is regaling Ken with the results of his snooping - he's found out that Richard's wife was called Marion, although there is a Patricia Hillman listed as another director of the company for which he works. A bigamist, maybe? Ken suggests it may be a sister, and warns Norris to be careful what he says. Curly mentions to Vera how well Terry looks. She begs him not to say anything, but he doesn't like the situation in which he finds himself, especially being married to a police officer.

Tyrone receives his £200 for clocking a car. There's more where that came from. Not only that, but Tyrone will be put on the guest list of a new club in Manchester. Tyrone savours the thought of rubbing shoulders with celebs...

In the Kabin, Norris is serving Gail and he tells her that it must be difficult for her, getting to know a new family. (Ken witnesses this exchange, without saying anything.) Norris explains to Gail that he's interested in genealogy, one of his hobbies. 'As well as being a Nosey Parker?', Gail retorts. Ken warns Norris to put an end to this snooping, as it could make him very unpopular!

In the Rovers, Toyah rushes in to see how her Mum is after her attack by Eileen. Toyah is concerned, not just for Janice, but for Les too. Tyrone flashes his ill-gotten gains at Fiz, who seems very excited at the prospect of going out to clubs and meeting famous people, maybe even Posh and Becks. Dennis invites Toyah and Sam for dinner on Sunday; they agree. While Dennis and Sam go off to play darts, Toyah talks to her Mum about her worry that Dennis will end by hurting her, but Janice assures her that she's made the right decision. Emma and Curly are having a quick drink before going to their ante-natal class, but Curly has things on his mind and tells Emma that he has something to do, right now, and he'll meet her at the clinic in a few moments...

Jack and Vera are, once again, discussing Terry's future. They don't know where to go from here. Curly arrives and delivers an ultimatum - he's fed-up with keeping the secret of Terry's whereabouts from Emma. If Terry doesn't give himself up by tomorrow night, he'll tell Emma...
