And so without any further ado, here we
go with this week's Coronation Street update.
David wants to be a daddy but Kylie
doesn’t want to be a mammy to another baby. Her work at the
Bistro continues to impress David’s big brother Nick and he
gives her a promotion while little brother David sulks at his
wife having a life. Mind you, Kylie’s got lots to
do at the Bistro but it was up to Gail this week to clear up
after Lewis who, very carefully, lay down on the floor then
threw a tray of glasses all over, smashing them all. Gail
rushed to his aid, took him home to the sofa and is nursing
his poorly back better. Every time the camera pans to Lewis’
face, you expect him to be twirling a moustache he doesn’t
have and giving an evil laugh. Gail’s loving having someone to
faff over and Lewis is happy when he searches for and finds
her bank statements. What he does next with them is anyone’s
guess.
Tyrone tries to do a runner with Ruby
this week but when Fiz finds out she insists that Tommy takes
her to Tyrone and they convince him to stay, dreadful though
it is, with crazy Kirsty at home. Fiz goes to see her
solicitor (hasn’t she already done so?) who advises Tyrone to
marry crazy Kirsty so that he can get legal custody of baby
Ruby and then divorce Kirsty. Seems a mad idea to me but
then I’m neither a solicitor nor a soap writer.
After Rita gave Dennis a debit card last
week, he slaps the plastic a bit too hard and gets drunk in
the Rovers, buying rounds he can’t afford from Rita’s bank
account. She’s not best pleased, especially when her card gets
declined in the Bistro when she tries to pay for a meal with
Emily. Dennis knows he’s done wrong so decides to put
things right and gets a job as a Traffic Management Operative
with Weatherfield Council – the only council in the country
taking staff on at the minute. We all know that in the
world of soap a Traffic Management Operative means that Dennis
has got a job as a Lollipop Man, but no one else seems to have
twigged that just yet.
News of Tina’s pregnancy gets out after
Norris blurts it, on purpose and against Rita’s advice, to
everyone in the pub. Of course, everyone assumes the
baby is Tommy’s and he’s as fed up with the surrogacy
storyline as the rest of us are, so he drinks the pints that
are being bought for him and gets merrily drunk. Tango
Tina chucks a tantrum and faints in the Street with anaemia.
And Jason chats St Ella up in the back
room of the pub.
And that's just about that for this week.
