Gemma, Chesney and the quads move from Wales back to Weatherfield and the babies are installed in incubators at Weatherfield General hospital. Bernie’s got her eye on the money that the quads could rake in but Gemma tells her mum she just wants to be a mother to her babies. However, when Frescho up their offer for the quads to be “the face of Freshco” Gemma and Chesney take the money. Well, they’re going to need it to feed those four mouths.

Roy finds his brother and niece this week. Now then, I don’t like long-lost siblings coming out of the woodwork and I’m not sure I like this, even if it does involve one of my favourite characters, Roy. It all starts when Roy becomes addicted to online Scrabble. Carla’s worried for him, but Roy knows he’s playing online against his brother and determines to track him down. It turns out his brother Richard is ill in bed, hooked up to tubes and drips, and is being looked after by his daughter (Roy’s niece) Nina. She’s suspicious of Roy and Carla poking around and gives them short shrift.

Elsewhere this week Michelle found out about Robert’s secret life, about Vicky and the baby. Robert dumps Vicky and tells Michelle he wants her. If you know what else happened in this storyline you’re a more dedicated fan than I. I watched all these scenes with the sound on mute, making my own words up instead.

Over at Steve’s flat while Tracy’s away, Emma moves in to recuperate from her appendectomy and she’s bonding with Amy and Steve. It’s all rather sweet. They even go to see Weatherfield County play at home, with Tim tagging along. And then Amy and Emma head to a Little Mix gig together.

And finally this week, evil Kel returns into Bernie’s life. Billy warns Kel to stay well away from Joseph, or else.

And that’s just about that for this week.

This week’s writers were Alsadair Morrison (Monday); Susan Oudot (Wednesday), Julie Jones and Steven Fay (Friday). Find out all about the Coronation Street writing team at Coronation Street Blog: Exclusive: All Current Corrie writers online
