Greetings and welcome to another week of words from Weatherfield.  Without any further ado, here we go with this week’s Corrie weekly update.

Geoff tries to wheedle his way back into Yasmeen’s life when they speak on the phone. He’s talking about dropping the charges against her as long as she comes back to him and keeps her gob shut about what a monster he really is. He realises now that if the case goes to court (which it, er, can’t due to social distancing on the Corrie set so I think this storyline has had to be changed) he’ll lose as the vultures gather around him on the cobbles ready to peck out the truth.  In prison, Yasmeen pals up with a woman called Lucy who eggs her on to stand firm against Geoff.

Abi gets a chance to say goodbye to her twins before they’re taken to live in Australia by their adoptive parents. She and Seb head to the meeting with the twins but it’s too much for Abi, she tells Seb she said her goodbyes to them many years ago and heads out, distraught before either of them see the kids. I really felt for Abi in this scene, it was heart breaking. There’s better news for Abi, however, when Kev asks her to move in at his house and even Kev’s son Jack approves.

Over at Underworld, Gary puts the rent up and Sarah’s not best pleased. Now Nick’s energy and time is concentrated on Leanne and poorly Oliver, he brings in Carla at the factory to look after things in his place. Yes! The knicker factory queen is back! Was it just me or did anyone else think Carla was wasted in the Rovers? She’s not a servile woman and having her serving up pints just didn’t suit at all.

Adam continues to woo Laura, Rick Neelan’s blonde, brassy wife, in public, in the Rovers. She thinks he fancies her but he’s only after information that he reckons will bring his nemesis Gary Windass down.  I can’t for the life of me wonder why, in a place as tightly-knit and gossipy as Coronation Street, someone hasn’t spied Adam and Laura sharing drinks and a laugh and the news hasn’t reached Sarah yet.

And finally this week, in the back room of the pub, lodger Scott and temporary landlord Peter share a few strong words about Carla. Scott reckons Peter didn’t do enough to protect Carla from the scallies who came into the pub threatening her the other week. Just what is Scott up to and who is he? Theories abound as to whether he could be Carla’s real dad, or something to do with Carla’s jailbird brother Rob. Time will tell. Meanwhile, Johnny rings again from France but Jenny gives him short shrift.
And that’s just about that for this week.
