Greetings and welcome to another week of words from Weatherfield.  I hope everyone is keeping safe and well in these very unsettled times.  And without any further ado, here we go with this week’s Corrie weekly update.

“I’ve just killed my husband!” - these are the chilling words that Yasmeen breathes down the phone when dialling 999 after she’d just stabbed Geoff with the broken wine bottle. The cops take her in for questioning and take Geoff to hospital, where he survives to live and lie another day. He tells the cops that Yasmeen’s got a drink problem, that she’s hit him before, that he lives in fear of his life. Meanwhile, Ryan gets on the phone to Alya in Spain and she come rushing back to help clear her gran’s name. But will the cops listen? Well, so far they haven’t. Imran represents Yasmeen as legal counsel in the cop shop but with Yasmeen’s confession about “killing” Geoff recorded by her 999 call, it’s not looking good. However, Sally’s not convinced by Geoff’s performance for the cops from his hospital bed and Sally looks shifty. Will she and Alya team up to bring Geoff down and have the truth revealed? Will the cops cotton on to the fact that Yasmeen asked about Clare’s Law with relation to abusive partners? Will the cops find Geoff’s CCTV in the house which surely must have recorded everything that went on? Let’s hope so. For now, though, for Yasmeen, things are not looking good

Elsewhere this week, Adam and Sarah return from honeymoon and David’s in a strange mood. He forgets to attend son Max’s speech at Jamila House community centre where Max is being given a certificate from Mary for helping clear litter from the Street.  David’s head is done in, again, and this can only mean one thing. He’s about to head off the rails

Asha plucks up the courage to face the outside world but when she does so, some lads from her school call her names after they’d viewed the nuddy video of her which Kelly sent to everyone from Corey’s phone. Nina comes to Asha’s rescue and biffs the lad who’s calling Asha. Nina’s right hook gives the lad a bloody nose and later, Nina and Asha become friends in Roy’s Rolls. Nina even tells Asha she’s pretty and sends her a portrait through the letterbox, a lovely touch, which got even lovelier when we see Nina sketching Roy too.

Meanwhile, as Billy and Paul take Kelly in to their flat to live with them, Billy’s not keen and calls Kelly a child abuser for forwarding on Asha’s video from Corey’s phone. He’s got a point, but Billy talks him around and they stop Kelly from leaving and take her back into their fold.

And finally this week, Gary is a man with a lot on his mind but if he knew that Adam was researching the death of Rick Neelan, who Gary killed, he’d be a lot more worried than he currently is.

And that’s just about that for this week.
