The Dobbs Affair

In the garage, a morose Tyrone admits he can’t stop thinking about Alina.  At Abi’s insistence, Kevin does his best to cheer up Tyrone over a pint, but Maria tears a strip off Tyrone for his treatment of Fiz. Kevin leaps to his mate’s defence and is quick to point out that she’s hardly a saint herself.

Abi puts pressure on Kevin to talk to Tyrone as it’s time he moved out. Tyrone approaches Alina and asks her if she still has any feelings for him. Alina suggests he calls at her flat later.

Fiz suggests Tyrone move back home and assures him she’s not looking for a romantic reunion, but to give the girls some stability. Tyrone tells Alina that he’s moving back in with Fiz on a temporary basis for the sake of the kids, but it’s her that he loves. Tyrone moves back into No.9 but can’t help wondering if he’s made a terrible mistake. When Fiz reveals that she’s booked a relationship counselling session for them with Toyah, Tyrone’s heart sinks. In the bistro, Toyah does her best to conduct Fiz and Tyrone’s counselling session. Having returned home, Tyrone slips upstairs to take a call from Alina.

Oh Peter!

A nervous Peter reveals he’s got an appointment at the transplant centre to assess if he’s a suitable candidate for a liver transplant. Peter, Daniel and Carla attend a meeting with the transplant coordinator whilst Steve, Tracy and Adam join via zoom. However the meeting descends into chaos when Tracy digs about Carla’s infidelity. Daniel voices his suspicions about Carla and how he reckons she’s having an affair with Lucas. When Peter reveals their plans for a small hotel wedding without any family Carla bites the bullet and tells Tracy that she’s not invited to their wedding.

Noting how unwell Peter is, Daniel suggests he postpone the wedding, but Peter won’t hear of it. Daniel recalls losing Sinead so soon after their wedding and how important it is to cherish your loved ones. Peter orders Daniel to put on a suit as he’s coming to the wedding as best man. A radiant Carla appears in the cafe in her wedding dress and asks Roy if he’d do her the honour of giving her away. As they head to the car, Peter stumbles. Daniel asserts they should take him to hospital rather than his wedding, but Peter refuses and orders Daniel to drive him to his wedding. Peter finally arrives at the hotel with Daniel in tow. Peter and Carla read out their own vows but it’s clear Peter’s struggling and Carla urges the registrar to speed up proceedings.

Still Trolling Along

Brian, Cathy and Bernie head back from lunching at Speed Daal, when Cathy gets a call from Dev telling her that it would be best if she stayed away from the kebab shop for a while until the customers forget what she’s done. Cathy’s further upset when she finds a parcel on the Kabin doorstep containing a funeral wreath and she confronts Tracy with the wreath. Tracy denies all knowledge but hurls a few insults at Cathy just for good measure. Cathy’s phone pings and with heavy heart she reads another horrible message, this time from the sender of the wreath.

Brian’s deeply concerned for her and reports the online abuse to Craig. Chief Inspector of Coronation Street, Craig’s apologetic but explains there’s nothing the police can do. Gemma’s horrified when she comes across a deepfake video of Cathy online. Having shown it to Bernie, Gemma heads to the loo leaving Bernie with her laptop. Cathy asserts that it would be best if she moved away even though Brian begs her not to leave. He confides in Yasmeen that Cathy’s gone. But when Brian reveals his intention to report Cathy’s disappearance to the police, Elaine steals herself to tell him the truth.

Back at the Bailey's

Michael explains to James he went ahead with the DNA test as he stares anxiously at the envelope, James offers to open it for him. Michael tells Ed that he did a DNA test. Ed’s hurt that he and Ronnie went behind his back. Ed tells Michael that he spent the night at the builder’s yard catching up on paperwork. Seb lets slip that he spent the night playing cards with Ed and Paul, Michael’s perturbed to realise Ed lied to him and he’s clearly gambling again. Michael confronts Ed over his gambling. Ed admits he simply didn’t want to come home as he finds it too painful to be in the same house as him at the moment. Having found out from Aggie that Ed’s taken £1k out of their bank account, Michael and James head out to search the bookies and casinos for their Dad.

Grandma? Nana? Gail.

Gail’s upset to learn that Nick’s done a flit with Leanne and Simon without even saying goodbye. When Natasha asks Gail if she’d mind having Sam for a couple of hours, Gail’s thrilled. Over a glass of wine, Gail assures Natasha that she’s family now, no matter what happens between her and Nick.

Romeo and Juliet

Faye and Craig enjoy lunch in Speed Daal when Craig’s colleague Jess congratulates Craig on his new CID attachment. When Faye nips to the loo, Jess warns Craig that he must disclose to his superiors that his girlfriend has a criminal record or he could land himself in trouble. Craig confides in Kirk how he’s been offered an opportunity with the CID, but if Faye goes to prison, it could scupper his career. Craig calls at No.4 and breaks the news that Ray pleaded not guilty to attempted rape. Tim and Faye are gutted, aware it could have a detrimental effect on her sentence.

And that’s just about that for this week.
