Damon's Web Expands

With her car blocked in, Adam working and unavailable Damon offers to give Sarah a lift to the hotel for her meeting. To Sarah’s annoyance Damon sits at a nearby table but as Lulu the buyer makes disparaging remarks about the designs Damon saunters over pretending to be a music mogul impressed by the designs. He hands Sarah his card with his room number written on the back. Lulu looks at the designs in a new light but Sarah is still angry with Damon and heads to the room where she tears a strip off him for interfering. Damon’s amused and hands her a glass of Champagne. Having finished the Champagne, Sarah throws caution to the wind and kisses Damon passionately.

Michael Makes His Play

Stephen is pleased that the Gazette are going to do a piece on the Nippersnapper deal and Ronnie reminds him that Michael deserves some credit. Michael suggests he join the meeting with Rufus. While Michael heads off to make the tea, Rufus tells Stephen that after some consideration he’s decided 25% of the profits isn’t enough and he’d like 50%. Stephen reels. Despite Stephen’s attempt to keep Michael away from the meeting by sending him out to take more designs to Sarah, Rufus meets Michael in the street and offers him a job in his London office.
Stephen is forced to agree to Rufus’s demand for 50% of the profits. As Rufus heads out, Michael shows Suki in, the reporter from the Gazette. While Stephen and Suki conduct their interview about Nippersnapper, Michael’s increasingly annoyed to be overlooked and heads out. When Stephen orders Michael back to work, Michael takes great pleasure in telling him that he can stick his job as he’s meeting Rufus later who’s offered him a far better job in London. Michael arrives at the house to see Rufus but gets no reply to the doorbell. Hearing loud music from inside, Michael calls Rufus and leaves him a voicemail.
Having failed to meet up with Rufus, Michael goes cap in hand to Stephen and asks if he can remain at Underworld. Stephen snaps that he’s too late and Nina is his new Head of Design. Elaine’s shocked whilst Nina wonders what she’s let herself in for. Ronnie advises Michael to go back to Rufus’ house and do his best to smooth things over. Michael and Ronnie turn up at Rufus’s house to find it swarming with police. When the housekeeper reveals that Rufus is dead and she found his body in the swimming pool, Michael reels in shock. Michael is shocked when Stephen takes him back on as Junior manager and promises to teach him everything he knows.
