Brian Berkeley-White

I was born 20 April 1943 during an air raid over Ilford, Essex - used that as my excuse for being terrified of thunderstorms when I was a kid. I spent most of my childhood around SE London and the NW Kent area, then joined the RAF at 17 (motive - to travel), and stayed 'till my 40th birthday. Got the travelling OK :)

In 1964, I married my first wife, Phoebe, a Kenyan national from the Kikuyu 'tribe' who I met in Nairobi - hence my four 'children' are nicely coffee-coloured. (They always look so healthy !). Divorced in '83, and met my (now) wife, Liz, in '86 - and helped bring up her two kids, now adults themselves.

After leaving the Air Force, I worked for the gov't (out of uniform) at establishments near Bath, and in Cheltenham, interspersed by a degree in modern languages at Bath Uni from 1987 to 1991. Took early retirement in April 1998 as Liz was offered a very good job at Sandwich, in Kent - so I'm now a 'house-husband' or man of leisure. Might do some teaching of languages, or might do some work from home - don't know yet (no urgency).

My current interests are - learning about wine, motorcycling (BMW R1100RS, for those who know about these things), this computer, aviation safety, trying to understand 'personal investment' (I've been ignorant of such things for 55 years), paranormal phenomena (and what they *may* tell us about the universe) and *some* New Age philosophies - and - oh, all sorts of passing interests. I do still really love travelling, and exploring new places.

As for Corrie, I've been watching religiously for eight or nine years, and only started because Liz used to watch it, and I sort of got involved. I've no favourite character, though. Some I particularly like, yes, and some I particularly don't like. It *is* the only soap I watch. I can't be bothered with being tied to the TV (or having to record) too many times.

So there you go then - that's me.

Take care y'all . . .
