Jo Horridge

Jo Horridge holds a special place in my affections as the first ratucs member I ever spoke to. Jo managed to track down my phone number, despite my not living in Bicester and was brave enough to call me to say help. Top woman!

Jo and her husband Pat were responsible for the duplication of the PAL/NTSC 35th anniversary tape. .Jo, Pat and their children live in Ware, Hertfordshire.

'' I'm 32 and married to Pat with three children, Andrew 7, David 4 and Jemma 2-in-July. I'm a stop-at-home mum who moonlights as a local councillor, tackling exciting issues such as as dogs mess and bat boxes....

I grew up watching the street with my late father and remember characters such as Ena Sharples and Uncle Albert and thought that I didn't want to get old as old people were so grumpy! I'm sure I learnt how to be outspoken from watching characters such as Annie Walker and Elsie Tanner in full flow.

My favourite characters have been the more humerous ones such as Hilda Ogden and Jack Duckworth. I find it hard to understand why two of the people I love most in the world - my husband and my mum - are not fans (although it has to be said that as my husband and my mum married fans - mum twice - that maybe they are closet fans and 'married into the street'!

My claim to fame on Ratucs is nearly starting a flame-war when I called Liz tarty and 'mutton dressed as lamb' back in the early days.
