Rosalind C. Mitchell

This is me, Rosalind Mitchell, born in Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire, in UK in 1954 of Cornish and Scots stock, and now living in Bristol, UK.

I contribute the Wednesday episode updates, which are a source of great pleasure, and I can be found most evenings on the #coro_street IRC chat channel in the guise of MissRosie.

What can I say about myself ? I guess I've had an interesting life, twice married, twice divorced, one daughter, Karen, born in 1980 and currently studying History at Durham University.

Myself, I have a degree in Physics from Liverpool University - the degree my parents and school wanted me to do, and another in Literature and Philosophy from the Open University.

I've been a teacher, but have made a full and complete recovery, and have been an IT systems consultant and a database designer/troubleshooter for the last 20 years, as well as an aspiring poet. I'm also a governor of Cotham School in Bristol, and until May 1999 a city councillor there.

I watched CS regularly throughout the 1960's, and remember the death of Martha Longhurst in the snug at the Rovers vividly, along with favourite characters of the time, Florrie Lindley, Leonard Swindley, dear mousy Miss Nugent (heavens, she's still with us), Uncle Albert Tatlock, the Three Witches, the Ogdens, and of course dear Annie Walker who has to be my favourite character of all time.

I didn't watch the show at all for the best part of 30 years, but returned just over a year ago, and I am fully addicted once more.

I do wish Curly Watts would hurry up and return, he can do my washing-up any time he likes ! But, meanwhile, I'll settle for cuddly Gary Mallett.
