Tracy Roketta

Mike has been after me about this for so long, it's time I gave in...no, not in that way!

I live in a small town in Ontario called St. Ann's. For those of you who know Southern Ontario, it's in the Niagara region, between Grimsby and St. Catherines on the Escarpment. For those of you who don't know Southern Ontario, just ignore this bit. I work as a Seminars Coordinator in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at McMaster University in Hamilton. I've been with the University for almost 10 years now and absolutely love my job. I enjoy travelling and over the past year have become engrossed in the sport of Formula One racing. Naturally, I support the Williams Renault racing team, and more specifically, Canadian Jacques Villeneuve, who, much to the chagrin of all and sundry, will become the 1997 World Champion...yes!!!

I've been watching Coronation Street since 1987 when, bored one Sunday morning, I was doing some channel surfing and came across this program where people spoke with the strangest accents I've ever heard (yes, you do have accents). I found that if I turned the TV up really loud, I could understand what was said (I don't have to do this anymore). At the time, Deirdre was still working for Alf in the mini-mart, Alan Bradley was romancing both Rita Fairclough and Gloria Todd, and Gail was having an affair with Brian's cousin Ian from Australia - all great stuff. I can't really say what my favourite CS scene is, other than anything with Rita and Mavis in it - Rita's one-line putdowns of Mavis are worth anything to hear. I also loved Hilda. The episode where her and Stan won the second honeymoon was classic - especially at the end, with Hilda lying in bed trilling "Five hundred and four" to herself - 504 was their room number that night. That was so sweet.
