Glenda Young

Glenda Young is, as I'm sure everyone is aware, responsible for the UK weekly episode updates which are carried on the Coronation St websites. Glenda also keeps the world up to date with all the lengthy news articles which she dilligently and tirelessly types up for the newsgroup.

I've been watching Coronation Street since I was about 11 years old, and one of my earliest memories of the show was when Stanley Ogden was walking in the loft of a house in the Street (can't remember whose it was) and his foot came through the ceiling of the house. I think he was chasing a pigeon out of the loft at the time.

My favourite character is Rita but I do like Raquel and Curly a great deal too. I think the Duckies are a lot more likeable these days now they're in the Rovers. My least favourite character is Derek. Mavis should run away with Norris!

I love writing the weekly updates each week, the reason I do this is that I lived in California for 3 years and was without my favourite soap for the time I lived there, so I know how good it feels to be kept up to date with the goings on in the Street. The updates started out on a one to one basis, I used to write them for Pauline Cernius in San Diego and then, gradually, others asked for the updates too. Now the updates are sent worldwide each week, they're even passed around staff at Lufthansa Airlines and airmailed to relief workers in Africa.
