Storylines I'd like to see
- February 1998
- Liz McDonald is arrested after being discovered spiking Nick
Tilsley's drinks with Rohypnol, the date-rape drug.
- Vera Duckworth embarks on a course of Hormone Replacement
Therapy in an attempt to regain her youthful libido. Three months
later, now known as Ronni Duckworth, she has left Jack, run off
with Chris the mechanic and together they manage Weatherfield's
first sado-masochism bondage clubs, "The Cloth Cap and Whip
It" and "The Lancashire Hot Bot".
- Gary Mallett buys Judy a tamagotchi, she forgets all about
baby Katie and they live happliy ever after.
- In a stunning revelation it is revealed that Jon Lindsey
IS in fact an airline pilot after all. He has been deceiving
Deirdre for months that he is a tie salesman. It has all been
an elaborate plan to convince her that he's a no-good conman.
He confesses "I've never been any good at ending relationships
and I was hoping that she'd do a runner. I had to do something
- she started making me nervous. Whenever her eyes started bulging
and her neck tendons started stretching I thought she was asphyxiating
- my pilot training instincts took over and I kept thinking that
I'd better increase the cabin oxygen levels!"
- After all the trouble with the Rovers hall staircase, Jack
and Vera decide to install a fireman's pole for quick, easy access
from the upstairs living quarters to the bar. Alec Gilroy, always
on the lookout for a business opportunity, orders Natalie Horrocks
to spin round it in a bikini at his inaugural Rovers "Striptease
Night" which he hopes will have the punters flocking in.
Sadly, there is a mammoth stampede OUT of the Rovers when Betty
Williams comes crashing down the pole in a pink basque, miming
to "Flashdance (What a Feeling)".
