He was one of Alec Gilroy's
earliest acts - 'discovered' on the Golden Mile at Blackpool as
"Lasarus, the Living Corpse". Alec called him in to
help out with a dodgy raffle he was running in the Rovers. Abi
won, only to drop down 'dead', and be pronounced so by Jim
McDonald ("I've seen corpses in the Army") and Martin Platt ("and he's a nurse
- so he should know, so he should"). 'Miraculously', landlord
Jack Duckworth gave him the
kiss of life, and Abi walked again. In 'gratitiude', he gave Jack
his pair of tickets to Las Vegas.
