We currently seem to know more about Lily's late husband than
Lily herself. Arnold was a councillor who knew Ken
Barlow and played bowls with Albert Tatlock. About 20 years
ago, Alf Roberts 'cheated' Councillor
Dempsey from being elected Mayor by 'pushing-in in front', and
it seems Lily has held a grudge ever since. (We all thought Alf
had won it fair & square in an election fight with Len Fairclough)
They used to live in Nightingale Terrace, but widow Lily now lives
in Mayfield Court in the next flat to Phyllis
Pearce.
