Tina first appeared on the Street in 2008, as the mouthy first girlfriend of David Platt. The relationship was originally a bit of fun for the pair of them, but it quickly turned sour after David became jealous over Tina’s friendship with her ex boyfriend.

Tina discovered she was pregnant with David’s child not long after. She decided she didn’t want the baby, and had an abortion without informing David of the pregnancy. David’s mum Gail helped her with the difficult choice. When David found out he was furious with Tina and Gail. He was so angry; he pushed Gail down the stairs of the house.

David convinced Tina to give him an alibi and not to report the crime to the police. She struggled with the guilt and left David to return to her mum’s. They later reconciled.

Now a firm favourite with viewers, Tina established herself as a regular on the cobbles by landing herself a job at Dev Alahan’s takeaway, and working behind the counter at the Kabin with Rita Sullivan and Norris Cole. Furthermore, she was given a family, with the arrival of her dad Joe McIntyre. Tina had a close relationship with her dad, so was thrilled for him when he showed a romantic interest with her mother in law.

Meanwhile, her relationship with David was going downhill again. After he began a feud with the new Windass family, a fight ensured between David and their youngest son Gary. David asked Tina to say Gary threw the first punch. It was actually the other way round. Again, her conscience got the better off her and she went away for a while. Tina returned on the day of David’s court case, and to Gary’s relief, she told the court it was David who started the fight. David was sentenced to fourth months in a young offender’s institute. Tina ended the relationship.

Tina’s next boyfriend was with the kind hearted but dopey Jason Grimshaw. The duo set up home together, by buying the flat above the Kabin and renovating it. David is once again upset by her actions; Jason is his sister’s ex fiancé after all. Their relationship turns serious after Jason proposed. She accepts, even though she had kissed Nick Tilsley a few months prior. Jason is obviously unaware of this indiscretion however.

Gail and Joe eventually married, but Joe had money worries so the relationship was always destined for disaster. Joe tried faking his own death. Unfortunately, he failed and ending up killing herself after hitting his head on the boat he was going to sail off in. Tina was devastated. She couldn’t eat and became an agoraphobic. She also dumped Jason after she told him what happened with Nick. She blamed Gail for his death. The police blamed Gail too, and Tina gave evidence against her. Gail was eventually acquitted, and the pair resumed their friendship shortly after once Tina realised Gail could never have killed her beloved dad.

Tina’s latest job is working as a barmaid at the Rovers. She is Corrie’s 52nd female face behind the bar. Her first shift was the night of the fatal tram crash. Her current boyfriend is Graeme Proctor, who helped her cope with the grief she suffered over her father’s tragic death.
