admirer, indulging in pottery, painting and poetry. Know to Rita Fairclough as the 'Saddleworth
Sage'. Victor took Mavis off on a camping weekend and then asked
her to live with him on a trial marriage, but she refused. Victor
proposed marriage to Mavis in 1984, but by that time she was engaged
to Derek Wilton.
In the 1990s Victor reappeared, the owner of a paper recycling
plant, PPP - Pendlebury's Paper Products. He employed Derek and
married Yvonne, a Mavis lookalike.
