A police constable who investigated when Des Barnes's car windows and the windows to No6 were smashed with bricks. Des suspected Les Battersby, but it was in fact Ritchie Fitzgerald, the jealous estranged husband of Des' girlfriend, Sam Failsworth.

The following June he took great delight in investigating what he initially thought was 'a domestic' after Janice Battersby reported Les parking him camper van in the Street. He thought he would catch the banned Les driving - but it was just a domestic after all.

In August 1998 he investigated Toyah Battersby's hoax bomb warning to Sixteen magazine in retaliation for them rejecting her article.
