Bus inspector Harry lived at No7 with his wayward daughter Lucille and his whippets. In 1961, he married Concepta Riley and their son Christopher was born the following year. Harry was always found propping up the bar of the Rovers with his drinking pal Len Fairclough. The Hewitts left for Ireland in 1964, leaving Lucille to finish her education. Whilst visiting Lucille in September 1967, Harry was crushed to death under Len's van.
